New York Tech hosts biotech summit, industry innovators on April 8

On April 8, industry and academic experts, innovators, and entrepreneurs will convene at New York Tech’s Biotechnology Summit.

On Thursday, April 8, industry and academic experts, innovators, and entrepreneurs will convene at the New York Tech Biotechnology Summit, “Innovation in the Time of COVID and Beyond,” to discuss a range of timely topics relevant to the rapidly growing biotech industry in our region, including innovations to address COVID-19, the biotech startup ecosystem and its supporters, biotech’s role in sustainable solutions, and breakthrough futuristic biotech innovations.

Keynote:
Dr. Kevin Tracey of Northwell Health and Bioelectronics will kick off the half-day summit with a keynote speech addressing his pioneering research on the molecular basis of inflammation and bioelectronics medicine.

Panel: Innovations to Address COVID-19
Our first panel of entrepreneurs and company representatives have developed technologies ranging from cell-based biosensors and smart materials, to the development of a vaccine and rapid testing kits, to a gateway to keep people safe in the workplace. They’ll discuss their exciting discoveries and describe how a team of innovators from industry and academia developed a ventilator in record time to address the rising number of COVID-19 hospitalizations.
